User:Bebop7

User:Bebop7 Appears to be using Commons simply to upload graphic images of sexual content that have previously been flagged. Request block. Volcom95 (talk) 05:19, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Not done These are old uploads, which have been reviewed. Yann (talk) 08:23, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

User:Bocissiaoa

Sock of Monogalies, who is indefinitely blocked for abusing multiple accounts. They continued the revert war at Typhoon Rita 10-22.png. TilmannR (talk) 13:39, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Done Blocked by Elcobbola. Yann (talk) 14:16, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

User:Papattamon

Repeatedly uploaded files with copyright problems. Horus (talk) 15:05, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Done Last warning sent, file deleted. Yann (talk) 18:51, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

User:Eustatius Strijder

Repeatedly uploaded files with copyright problem. His latest upload is image upload that was previously deleted per COM:NETCOPYVIO. Already warned on his talk page, but didn't seems to listen. Ckfasdf (talk) 23:19, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Done. I warned the user and deleted speedily one upload, because Google image search found it all over the internet and own work was very unlikely. Taivo (talk) 11:14, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Please semi-protect this file against edits, moves, and uploads. See parallel issues with doxxing/vandalism/BLP violation against Wikipedia:Liz Fong-Jones last night which have been locked down with ECP blue-lock over there. I worry that this image will become targeted as it's included in the article and the group of people coordinating this harassment off-wiki have already demonstrated their "talent" at creating BLP violating, copyright violating, defamatory, etc. images of my face elsewhere. Lizthegrey (talk) 02:21, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Done. One week semi-protection. Taivo (talk) 11:18, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

One Page Calendar 2021.jpg

For some reason, File:One Page Calendar 2021.jpg is regularly vandalised; please semi-protect it; permanently if possible. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:08, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Done. In my opinion indefinite semi-protection is not needed. One year semi-protection plus I cleaned file history. Taivo (talk) 20:09, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
@Taivo: I'm unclear why you've cleared the edit history? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 22:48, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
Because the vandalistic edits were totally irrelevant. By principle they can be restored, but why? Taivo (talk) 14:13, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Tsnded1

  — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 05:56, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Not done. No activity after you warned Tsnded yesterday. Faking license review is really very bad and Tsnded was warned not to repeat that one month ago. Seems like Tsnded has not repeated the mistake. 3 uploads of 5 extant are currently nominated for regular deletion. Taivo (talk) 14:42, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Reasons for reporting: These are several sockpuppets focuses on the promotion of the work of Mexican filmmaker Ricardo Tavera. Most of them have been block on eswiki. The original user had created the category Ricardo Tavera[1] here, which the sockpuppets have also used. All of the uploaded images are related to this filmmaker.

--MexTDT (talk) 06:51, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Done I blocked the 3 newest accounts, and warned the oldest. Yann (talk) 17:15, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Piersonfode

  — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 13:25, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Not done. Only one edit so far. Thank you for warning Piersonfode against advertising AND copyvios! Taivo (talk) 14:17, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
@Taivo: What about all the abuse filter log entries? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:AbuseLog/9445078 indicates attempted copyright violation (in the eyes of Getty Images, at least).   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 14:28, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
All this happened previous year, before your warning. If Pierson continues with copyvios, then he can be blocked. Taivo (talk) 14:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Athanas P George for copyright violating sockpuppetry

  • Reasons for reporting: Athanas P George uploaded a copyrighted logo to the Commons before it was speedily deleted; Kpmls promptly reuploaded the same logo. Both inserted the logo to the same EnWikipedia article immediately after uploading their copy of the logo ([2], [3]). Athanas P George account had been previously warned about copyright violations in June last year. ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:28, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Done I blocked the sock indef., and warned Athanas P George again. Next copyvio should lead to a block. All dubious files tagged or deleted. Yann (talk) 17:11, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
@Yann: Behavior also matches known sockmaster Fenrk, who uploaded similar copyvios under the now-blocked accounts Fenrky and UserLs08. Requesting an indef block on Athanas P George, as it's likely just another sock itself. ~ Pbritti (talk) 17:21, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
OK   Done Yann (talk) 18:52, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
@Yann: Why not block sockmasters?   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:06, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
Well, AFAIK we don't block sockmasters on Commons only because they create socks. Usually they are blocked for copyright violations, vandalism, or harassment. Yann (talk) 10:13, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
@Yann: I think they should be blocked for sockpuppetry, as well as the bad acts of their socks.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:53, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
I understand Yann's caution against universally blocking sockmasters and also appreciate their action in moving to block when good faith can no longer be assumed. I think that a lighter touch when editors might be new and need guidance is worthwhile but agree with Jeff G. that good-faith actions should be determinant in admin actions. In this instance, behavior on both the Commons and on EnWiki (plus a CheckUser) guaranteed that a block was the right call. ~ Pbritti (talk) 21:23, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

@Yann: On a related note, the CheckUser revealed Aju sajan 3013 is yet another sock of the same bad-actor on the Commons. ~ Pbritti (talk) 21:25, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Done Blocked, file deleted. Yann (talk) 21:27, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

User:Leckhure Omamösenlecker

User:Leckhure_Omamösenlecker username is tagged and blocked as offensive on Wikipedia here and noted in Commons here. User is blocked on Wikipedia as sockpuppet here and likely re-added an image they were previously blocked for here. I recognize these are different spaces and this last image is circumstantial, but the username issue should be addressed at a mimnimum. HalJor (talk) 01:11, 21 January 2023 (UTC)

  Done Indef'ed, because offensive username. --A.Savin 01:36, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
