Photography workshop

This workshop is part of the Graphics Lab, a project aimed at picture retouching to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. More information about the lab can be found on its main page and requests pages (Illustrations ; Photographs ; Maps ; Video and Sound). To ask questions or make a suggestions, see the talk page of the graphic lab page.

This specific page is the requests page for the Photography Workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Request: This PDF, scans of two pages from a public-domain book (1886) pulled from Internet Archive, has an historical line-art map. I would like its two parts spliced together as a single graphics file with corrected alignment. We have en:File:Wickenden Street map.jpg that is nearly-illegibly low-res and has some text highlighted by a third party. Request: Hello. I am the original uploader of this image. I once had the original magazine, but it was in a binder. Hence, the reason the page is curled downward, along the right edge. I don't want major alterations to be made, that would necessitate the creating of a new file name. I was just hoping this one could look more presentable. (I only have basic GIMP knowledge.) For instance, perhaps correcting the darkened shades along bottom and edge of right side. I don't know if anything could be done to give the page better focus, darken the image a tiny spec, or straighten out a couple or so slanted words. Martin drew three illustrations for the "Monitor Top" refrigerator. This is one of them. In closing: I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality, without having to create a new file name. You are welcome. My understanding is the illustration workshop is for diagrams/symbols, or vector graphics in general.
