About me

Hello World. My name is Chris Koerner. (My last name is pronounced Ker-ner) I use he/him pronouns. I live on the unceded lands of the Kiikaapoi people in the Midwestern United States.

I've been with the Foundation for more than six years now, and have been a MediaWikian and Wikipedian since 2013.

I try to be a partner to those underrepresented in our community and work to have better representation of the diverse voices in our projects. I'm someone who tries to follow the idea of New Sincerity. In short, I'm honest with minimal irony or sarcasm.

My work

I'm a Senior Movement Communications Specialist. I’m here to share the stories in the work of the communities and the Foundation across the Wikimedia movement. The major way I do so is with support for Diff, a community news and event blog for the movement.
