Erste Schritte[edit]

Hallo Arbol01, das ging ja schnell. :-) Wegen der nötigen Lizensierung schau mal bitte Commons:Copyright tags. Und ansonsten bitte auch gleich die Bilder einsortieren in die Kategorien/Galerien, z.B. Ireland, mit einem Deiner Fotos hab ich das schon mal beispielhaft gemacht. Commons:Sprache gibt schon ein paar Hinweise zur Sprachverwendung, toll wäre es wohl, solche Fotos zumindest auch kurz mit einer englischen Beschreibung zu versehen. Hallo mal wieder. Da Du ja auch hier richtig fleißig bist, kann es doch evtl. vorkommen, dass jemand Fragen zu Deinen vielen Bildern hat, da wäre es m.E. ganz gut, wenn Du Dir zusätzlich zu den deutschsprachigen Texthinweisen auf der Nutzerseite auch noch "diese kleinen blauen Sprachbausteinchen" zulegst ... was meinst Du? Und hast Du schon entdeckt, dass man mittlerweile eine deutsche Nutzeroberfläche auswählen kann (nebenbei gefragt)? Näheres und vieles andere natürlich im Commons:Gemeinschaftsportal ... nur so als gut gemeinte Tipps für den Fall, dass Du´s noch nicht entdeckt hast :-)) --:Bdk: 06:23, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
