Hi,
The file has been undeleted. Could you please update the file page? Natuur12 (talk) 15:58, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you Natuur12 for your help. I just updated the license information on the page. Please let me know if I missed anything. CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 16:04, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Removal of no permission tags[edit]
- File:Sandister Tei in Impact Hub Accra 5AAP garden.jpg
- File:Sandister Tei at Impact Hub Accra 5AAP.jpg
I have undone your removal of {{No permission since}} tags from the above files. The photo metadata indicates that the copyright holder of these photos is seth appiah photography (seth appiah photography (Photographer) - [None], not Sandiooses. Evidence of permission is required by Commons:Project scope/Evidence in these cases, and unless such evidence of permission is provided to COM:OTRS by the copyright holder, Commons licensing policy requires that we delete the file. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 16:42, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ah, I was confused. Didn't notice the metadata attribute. Thanks for that AntiCompositeNumber. CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 16:53, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Subtitles[edit]
Hello Chris,
there are overlapping periods where two captions are shown at the same time in the file about the Annual Plan. I try to fix this in this file. If you think it is more bad after it you can change it. What for a software was used for generating the captions. The translation is good but in the timing there are mistakes.--20:39, 14 July 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hogü-456 (talk • contribs) 20:39, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Hogü-456. I saw your attempt to fix the captions and appreciate it. I spent hours today trying to figure out what happened and finding a solution. Here's what I know. I created the videos and then uploaded them to YouTube a few weeks ago. YouTube created a machine translation of the English track, which I exported. The machine translation is really good and was the basis of the English captions. I then spent some time fixing proper nouns, grammar, "um"s, and other bits. I then sent the English transcript off to translators before I was out for a week (and right before we were set to share the Annual Plan) to have them translated into multiple languages. I used an online tool that supposedly converts the .sbv format YouTube uses to the .srt (SubRip). In testing this appeared to work. However, as you noticed with the difference between how YouTube displays captions (as a stream of words) and Commons (lines of text) there is now an overlap. I've investigated some automated means to correct for this, but have not been successful in finding one that works. CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 21:08, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hello CKoerner (WMF), I updated the English subtitles now and have created for that a Spreadsheet that converts the time so that there is no overlapping and now they seem to be correct. I have sent you that file in an E-Mail and you can check the subtitles and try if they work. If you are interested and have time I can tell you some more about the file during the Wikimania Hackathon this year. I plan to attend. Maybe it is also possible to create a own conversion from the YouTube Subtitle format to the format used in Wikimedia Commons.--Hogü-456 (talk) 21:04, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Hogü-456, This was totally beyond the help I deserved. Thank you for stepping in and helping fix this problem. It is much appreciated. With your great work I can get the other language translations in place without such errors. As for the Hackathon, yes! Let's make sure we connect. I'd love to chat with you more.
